Patrice Mahoney
Patrice Muthaymiles Mahoney is an Anaiwan Nation (Dunghutti/Ngayaywana) woman, Patrice Mahoney Muthaymiles was recently awarded an OAM for service to the Indigenous community of Victoria. From her home in Wonthaggi she is an activist and advocate, a printmaker, sculptor, weaver, drawer and painter. Patrice expresses herself through motifs and symbols and is deeply inspired by connection to place. Through her work she challenges current relationships between mainstream and Aboriginal Australian through identity. Patrice has a Bachelor in Art and Design, is currently studying for a Masters degree and has exhibited extensively throughout Victoria.
