Sammy Trist
Samantha Trist ~ Taungwurrung Cultural Educator and Artist. Infused with the spirit and connection of the Yea River and wetlands, Sammy’s art is a living reflection of her deep connection to Country.
A multidisciplinary artist she brings Kulin stories and landscapes to life through public sculptures and vibrant murals. Her pyrography practice and digital designs of native bird kin provide her with calmness and connection to country.
Sammy has displayed her story of the Bogon Moth Dreaming in a global art installation at Oak Hill Gallery called the Moth migration. The migration of the Bogon Moth is a significant event for the Aboriginal people of the South East, and was a time of gathering, feasting and great celebration.
She also has several murals displayed publicly. Her work belongs to collections throughout Australia and internationally.
