Aunty Marice talks about painting ‘Australia’s own Waa’ (The Crow or Raven) as they are a native bird to Australia’s land. She uses dark backgrounds and half-moon to emphasise they are one of the only birds that fly in the night. She uses other elements, such as the warrior shield, to talk about the strength in Australia’s lands, people, and native animals.
