Aunty Marice pays tribute to time that passed long before us, and long before colonisation. The tree, standing strong amongst new buildings and skylines, holds more knowledge and lived experience than anything else around it. The country around it changes, develops, becomes divided and sold. The tree remains, just as we remain.Trees are our ancestors, they mark places of ceremony in matters of life, seasonal change, and mortality. They remind us of these things, and the importance of our fortitude.
