This contemporary Aboriginal weaving reflects the ongoing connection between First Nations people, country, and the places where stories are shared. The circular form represents a meeting place at the heart of community life, a space where generations gather to pass on knowledge, culture, and traditions.

The woven pathways that spiral outward symbolise the journeys of our people across country, connecting family, clans, and communities together. The flowing movement within the design reflects the ever changing landscapes of the land, shaped by the seasons, water, fire, and time.

The contrasting natural and ochre-toned fibres represent the relationship between earth and spirit, past and present. They remind us that while landscapes may change, the cultural connections to country remain strong and unbroken. Each woven strand carries a story, reflecting resilience, adaption, and the enduring strength of First Nations people.

This piece celebrates the meeting places that bring people together and honours the living landscapes that continue to nurture, teach and sustain community across generations.
