“I remember the bathroom so vividly.
She had one of those dolls that would sit on top of the toilet roll.
I always wanted one of those.
The room was orange and brown,
it hadn’t changed since the 60s.
She is gone now,
there is no colour anymore,
it’s all white and beige,
no more dolls protecting toilet paper,
things are practical and functional,
boring.
It’s been 17 years but I still remember the bathroom.”
