This shield comes from the Yorta Yorta ways of making- using what we have, caring for it, and carrying culture forward. It’s something Mob can wear to show who we are and where we come from.
It holds our stories, our families, and our connection to Country along the river.
When you wear the shield, it introduces you. It speaks strong for you- grounded in culture, held by Ancestors, and connected to community.
The shield also protects. It takes in negative words and attitudes and holds them, so they don’t sit on your body or your spirit. You don’t have to carry that. The shield carries it for you, so you can stand strong in who you are.
